Walk inside and…WOW! NWP Energy, with local talent Pillar & Peacock, created an interior reminiscent of a Gilded Age library with a decidedly contemporary flair. Fireplace inserts and gas log sets flank the walls, inviting visitors to consider how the products may look in their homes.
“A showroom can be a sterile environment,” says Adrianne Bugg, principal designer. “So, we set out to create an inviting gallery that showcases NWP’s fireplace insert products. There’s a wooden high-top table with plenty of room to spread out house plans just beyond the entrance, multiple seating areas that include a comfortable and stylish couch, and two-top round cement tables for one-on-one discussions.”
Bugg used the same rich coastal blue on the interior. “That’s Farrow & Ball Hague Blue!” says Bugg. It immediately creates an intimate feel.”
NWP Energy’s General Manager Ryan Faulkner agrees. “The interior of the NWP Showroom sets just the right tone for our customers. It’s a cozy space that encourages conversation. Our customers can see how a fireplace insert might look—and function—in their home.”
“We want our community to experience the amazing potential that clean burning propane power provides to residential or commercial properties. Fireplace inserts, gas logs, tankless water heaters, backup generator power, fire pits and more are available now, or soon will be, through the NWP Showroom. And, NWP installs and services all the products we sell,” Faulkner says. “The next phase will include an outdoor kitchen and living area.”
According to NWP Operations Manager Wayne Galleher, the idea to create a showroom stemmed from a push from the greater community. During COVID, when residents were hunkered down, having an outdoor kitchen on the patio grew in popularity. The Showroom and grounds provide NWP the space to display these products while introducing customers to new, high-quality, visually appealing products to enhance their home life.
The NWP Showroom is managed by Alissa Nashwinter and is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Because NWP’s service region is a second home to many weekenders, potential customers may schedule a Saturday or Sunday appointment to discuss their home improvement project.
“Often customers aren’t sure what they need or want,” says Nashwinter. “There are so many options, and we want to be sure customers choose the best fit for them and their home. That requires a home visit to make the best recommendation.”
Work has started on the outdoor kitchen and living area space. “The outdoor products will be fully customizable,” says Galleher. “NWP will also provide firepits, a grill line, heaters, and water heater installation.”
He says another reason for the soaring popularity of outdoor kitchens, grills and fireplaces is the entertaining value they offer.
“People who live in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula want outdoor living areas. They position them near their pools for entertaining, and, depending on where they live, the spaces often overlook the Chesapeake Bay, Rappahannock River or the Potomac River.”
While NWP Showroom offers an increased focus on the outdoors, NWP Energy will still service products indoors. For example, NWP can install non-vented gas logs into a wood-burning fireplace for customers with wood-burning stoves who want to convert. It’s a flexible option, and if the owner decides they want to burn wood again, they can. On the other side, direct vent fireplaces are in modern homes with more features—like light sets and blowers. For residents with either setup, NWP offers a few different product lines.
Once your non-vented fireplace is converted, NWP Energy can supply inserts and logs easily.
Showroom Manager Nashwinter adds, “Stop by the NWP Showroom to see all the possibilities for your home.”
