Humans aren’t the only ones who like to indulge in a sweet treat every now and then—dogs do too. Pet owners are welcome to bring their dogs by [outside] to places like Billsburg Brewery, DoG Street Pub, The NauticalDog in New Town, or The Hound’s Tale Corner BARkery, which recently opened along Prince George Street.
“We are super excited about the ability to provide light ‘bites and bevs’ for our human guests, some yummy snacks for their furry friends and super retail items for all,” said Geri Pratt, owner of The Hound’s Tale Corner BARkery.
“The new space is a combination bar, bakery, and gallery filled with fun items and pet friendly art. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the patio, but not inside. We have a full bar and small plates for humans, and bowser ‘beer,’ dog ‘wines,’ and yummy treats like doggy donuts and pizza for their ‘kids.’”
The Nautical Dog carries gourmet cakes and cupcakes for dogs as well as other baked items for the holidays. “Birthday cakes are our best seller, with cupcakes and peanut butter bars coming in next,” said Amanda Wilbourne with The Nautical Dog. “The joy we get from giving our pet something extra special gives us something to smile about.”
