Like fun, food and beer? Then the DoG Street pub is the place for you. The elegant - yet funky - gastropub is bringing back some of its favorite events this month that are sure to keep you full and warm amid the winter chill of January.
This Thursday, Jan. 7, marks the return of Slider Night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Three unique sliders paired with three taste size beers will help diners start the weekend a little early. Not a fan of beer, but still want to get in on delicious toppings stuffed between mini burger buns? No problem, DoG Street offers tasty sodas in lieu of brews including Cheerwine and Dominion Root Beer that makes Slider Night a family friendly affair.
But the fun this month doesn’t stop with a bevy of tiny burgers!
The watering hole is bringing back the DoG street Pub Firkin Fest – a beer and food festival featuring cask ale – on Jan. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature 16 different breweries and more than 20 unique beers. Live blues on two stages will set the mood. Performers include the Bobby Blackhat Band, Anthony Rosano & the Conqueroos, Billy Joe Daniel, Zack Salsberry and Shelly Thiss, lead singer of the Mike Lucci Band.
The festival’s name comes from the featured beer – cask beer – which is a raw, unfiltered ale tapped at the source. Instead of being packaged in kegs or bottles, cask beer, also known as “real ale,” is poured from firkins and pins (size names for casks.) Tickets are $35 with food available for purchase.
