9th Annual Historic House Party on October 12, 2024
The Fairfield Foundation hosts its 9th Annual Historic House Party at Exchange in Gloucester. Each year, Fairfield holds this exclusive event to celebrate the accomplishments of the year and raise funds for a new project. This June, the Richmond-based Cabell Foundation awarded Fairfield a $100,000 matching grant to restabilize the Rosewell Ruins. All money raised during the House Party will support this grant.
The Annual Historic House Party is a Fairfield Foundation staple. With catered dinner and an open bar, enjoy the night out with friends at a beautiful 18th century home on the water in Ware Neck. Address is provided once tickets are purchased.
Tickets are sold individually at $75 a piece. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Sponsorship levels are: Bronze ($250), 2 free tickets and swag, Silver ($500), 2 free tickets & swag, Gold ($1000), 4 free tickets & swag, and Platinum ($5000), 8 free tickets and swag. All sponsors are featured in print and digital media marketing. Send in business logos as a JPEG file to annie@fairfieldfoundation.org.
The mission of the Fairfield Foundation is to promote and involve the public in hands-on archaeology, historic preservation and related education activities within Virginia's Middle Peninsula and surrounding areas. Activities are conducted to educate and involve people of all ages in the process of archaeological and historical preservation, to provide outreach to students and the public about historic landscapes of the region, and to encourage discussion, research, collaboration, and preservation of historic resources, including buildings, archaeological sites, historic documents, and oral history. The Foundation's major projects include archaeological outreach at the Burwell plantation known as Fairfield/Carter's Creek, restoration and repurposing at Timberneck House at Machicomoco State Park, preservation of the Walter Reed Birthplace, preservation and tours at the Rosewell Ruins and Visitor Center, and interpretation of the restored 1930s Edgehill Service Station, which serves as its headquarters -- the Center for Archaeology, Preservation, and Education (CAPE).
