Thirty years and hundreds of thousands of home-cooked peanuts later, it’s safe to say Whitley’s Peanut Factory has perfected its old-fashioned slow roast.
This year, Whitley’s will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary and continue to do what it has done best for the past three decades: serve the highest-quality “super, extra large” Virginia peanuts to drooling customers all over the country. Each batch, staff members say, is cooked individually with their tried and true recipes to ensure every customer is greeted to Whitley’s crisp, fresh, and unique flavor, the stuff that makes ’em famous.
To guarantee the highest quality of peanuts, Whitley’s employees weed through every nut, checking for size and freshness. They want customers to be completely satisfied with their purchase, whether it’s their famous Salted Virginia Peanuts, Honey Cinnamon Almonds, or Peanut Brittle.
Made locally, Whitley’s has become a Williamsburg staple, a go-to for every holiday, birthday, or “just because” treat. The company’s two retail stores are located in Williamsburg and Gloucester, but Whitley’s can ship any order (for free!) to any doorstep in the United States and beyond.
It’s “like no other peanut you’ve ever tasted”— and that’s something the company swears by.
Whitley’s 30th anniversary celebration is scheduled for May 21, 2016 at their Gloucester store. For details, go to whitleyspeanut.com.
