The good news is that The Office Bistro has a large outdoor dining space with heaters that will carry the restaurant well into Thanksgiving for safe outdoor dining. Inside dining remains open and will continue as long as the Governor maintains Phase 3 guidelines. Online ordering for take-out and gift cards continue to be popular. For those who wish to enjoy The Office Bistro’s chef-inspired creations for family gatherings at home, catering options for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will be offered.
OUR STORY
When The Office Bistro opened in November 2018, it was in the former dentist offices of Dr. William Westbrook on Irvington Road in Irvington, a familiar sight to locals. Because the dentist’s office was known for the blue toothbrushes holding up the front porch of the office—and because they had become icons in Irvington after nearly two decades, co-owner Terri Wesselman decided to keep the giant toothbrushes on the front porch when the building was renovated. The toothbrush theme was even incorporated into part of their design concept with subtle reminders of the former dentist’s office throughout the interior—the whimsical wallpaper in the bathroom nods to dental paraphernalia—along with a newly added bar, dining room and al fresco dining area on a spacious, extended porch. The vibe is casual, welcoming and friendly.
Under the artistic leadership of co-owner Chef Michael Knapik, the kitchen team executes The Office Bistro’s farm-to-table cuisine using chef-inspired recipes that offer a range from familiar to creative. The menu changes daily, not just because of fresh-catch items and the abundance of local produce, but with the addition of special offerings such as gluten-free and vegan offerings on the menu. To further enhance the dining experience at The Office Bistro, Knapik offers a wine list and specialty cocktail menu designed to pair perfectly with the entrée menu. One change as a result of the pandemic is the elimination of the bistro’s extensive small plate menu designed for the bar area, but Wesselman says, “As restaurants are allowed to reopen their bar areas, we’ll bring back the small plate bar menu and other bistro specialties.”
