Midtown Row is an exciting new development underway in Williamsburg.
A curated retail, residential and entertainment district in the heart of Williamsburg—Midtown Row is an exciting new development underway off two popular thoroughfares, Richmond Road and Monticello Avenue. While completion isn’t expected until Summer 2021, this mixed-use city center is already bustling with activity.
The Broad Street Realty project, which broke ground in March of 2018, has reached some major milestones recently, including their topping-off ceremony in October. “This is traditionally held when the last beam is placed on top of the structure during its construction,” said Mylisha Palmer, marketing coordinator for the project. The Monticello Avenue multi-use trail also opened this fall, giving patrons another access point to this growing area.
In addition to brick work and siding on the outside, the apartments are coming to life inside as well, as the construction team has begun to hang drywall. The residential portion, which will provide housing for over 620 residents, will be ready for move-in by Summer 2021, and will include a parking garage. The units are already leasing and “filling up quickly,” according to Palmer.
Williamsburg residents and visitors can currently enjoy a number of businesses already established at Midtown Row. There are two shopping centers, both anchored by grocery stores, one of which is the newly reopened Earth Fare. “They are doing very well and the Williamsburg community is ecstatic to have them back,” said Palmer. Fans of the award-winning, local food truck Matchsticks BBQ Co. should be on the lookout for the grand opening of their brick-and-mortar location next to the ABC Store.
