Editor's Note: This summer, The Local Scoop's Williamsburg edition will take on the best ice cream shops in the city. But before our summer issue launches (look for it on stands this May!), we're reviewing some of the best scoops around.
Being allergic to peanut butter is probably one of the worst things that can happen to an ice-cream lover like myself.
In this case, it prohibited me from tasting Kilwin’s famous Kilwin’s Tracks ice cream when I visited their store in Colonial Williamsburg on an unseasonably warm day in early March.
It was cloudy, and about to rain, but the Salted Caramel was the perfect thing to brighten up the dreary day.
It had these cute little chocolate chunks filled with caramel, which has always been something I’ve loved. The atmosphere of the store itself was friendly and happy, kind of like Disneyland. It was the kind of place a chocolate-lover would want to live.
There were cases full of fudge and displays of candies you might not find anywhere else.
The first step into that store is like a magical candy-filled wonderland.
This is definitely the place to visit on your next trip into town!
