Ever found yourself calling a festive holiday moment one perfect for a Norman Rockwell painting - classic and full of love?
This season, thanks to the Liberty’s Ice Pavilion on Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg between Nassau and Henry Streets near Merchant’s Square, you might find yourself calling a family outing there a Rockefellar moment.

Writer’s note: John D. Rockefellar, Jr. and his wife, Abby Aldrich Rockefellar, were among the revolutionaries who worked to build Williamsburg into a living history museum starting in the late 1920s.

The Liberty’s Ice Pavilion, sponsored by Dominion, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. The skating season will run through February 15.

Park in the paid parking garage on Henry Street or, if you are visiting Colonial Williamsburg and have admission tickets, at the Visitor Center and ride a heated bus that will drop you off step away from the rink. The buses run each day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Tickets (adult $10, youth $8) may be purchased online here, or at any Colonial Williamsburg ticketing location and the Liberty’s Ice Pavilion itself.

Skate rentals are not included with your ticket and may be purchased separately. Skate sharpening is also available at the pavilion for $5 a pair.

Here’s some #LOCALSCOOP on the rink.
Admission tickets are good for all day skating. Plan a Williamsburg day. Ice skate a bit, pop over to Merchant’s Square for lunch and then come back for more!
If you eat at a local restaurant before going ice skating, ask them about a stamp on your receipt. You may get 10 percent off your admission and skate rentals.
